This course option combines both the Active IQ Level 3 Technical Specialist in Sports Massage Therapy (Diploma) and the Y-Awards Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy (Soft Tissue Dysfunction) qualifications.

Course Summary
Our combined Level 3 and Level 4 Sports Massage Therapy course is the fastest route into the industry if you're starting with no previous qualifications. It's also a great way to add further revenue to your existing business offer. We have lots of exercise professionals who come to diversify their skills and learn new skills to sell to new services to existing customers.
You'll learn to assess musculoskeletal dysfunction, applying targeted massage techniques for pre/post-event and injury recovery, treatment planning, client consultation, soft tissue rehabilitation, and professional practice within sports and clinical settings.

How You're Taught
Level 3 Technical Specialist in Sports Massage Therapy
You'll learn through 8 days of in-person training. The face-to-face sessions combine classroom-based learning with hands-on practical training, allowing you to develop your sports massage techniques in a professional learning environment.
- Duration: 8 training days
- Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Delivery: Face-to-face
- Course Options: Weekend and selected evening dates available.
Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy (Soft Tissue Dysfunction)
You'll learn through 8 days of in-person training. The face-to-face sessions combine classroom-based learning with hands-on practical training. Under the guidance of experienced tutors, you'll refine your assessment and treatment techniques while working with fellow learners in a supportive professional environment.
- Duration: 8 training days
- Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Delivery: Face-to-face
- Course Options: Weekend and selected evening dates available.
Please note that our evening courses are delivered over 12 weeks on one evening per week, starting at 6pm and finishing at 9pm each day.
You will be expected to practice massage techniques on your peers, and your peers will also need to practice on you. You will therefore need to wear comfortable clothing and footwear and bring a change of clothes, preferably shorts and a T-shirt. Changing rooms are available.

Assessment
Assessment is completed throughout the qualification, allowing you to demonstrate both your theoretical knowledge and practical massage skills.
You'll complete:
- Practical massage observations
- Knowledge assessments (online exams)
- Case studies
- Written worksheets
Our tutors provide continuous feedback to help you build confidence and prepare for the qualification.
Progression
Successful completion of this qualification enhances your professional practice and opens up further study opportunities in Sports Therapy, Sport and Exercise Science and related degree programmes.

Entry Requirement
- Aged 16+
- No previous qualifications required
- Reasonable level of physical fitness
- Good reading, writing and communication skills
- Comfortable giving and receiving sports massage treatments
