English Institute of Sport (EIS)

The English Institute of Sport Sheffield (EISS) is one of the UK's leading sports and fitness venues, providing a world-class environment for learning. Home to elite athletes and national governing bodies, it offers outstanding facilities that create the perfect setting for your course.

During your training, you'll have access to the recently refurbished gym, featuring cardio, resistance and functional training equipment, as well as a dedicated free weights area.

Getting Here

Walking: The venue is within walking distance of several nearby bus and tram stops and is easily accessible from the surrounding area.

By Car: The venue is located just off the A630 Sheffield Parkway with easy access from the M1 (Junction 33). Parking is free for all Envisage learners (subject to availability).

By Train: Sheffield Railway Station is approximately 2 miles away. From the station, you can take a taxi, bus or tram to the venue in around 10–15 minutes.

By Tram: The nearest Supertram stop is Arena / Olympic Legacy Park, just a short 5-minute walk from the venue.

By Bus: Several bus routes serve the Olympic Legacy Park and surrounding area, providing regular services from Sheffield city centre and nearby locations.

Food & Drink: There is an on-site café serving hot and cold food, snacks and drinks. You're also welcome to bring your own lunch, and there are nearby supermarkets and cafés within a short drive.

Accessibility: The venue is fully accessible, with step-free access, accessible toilets and lifts. If you have any specific accessibility requirements, please let us know before your course so we can make suitable arrangements.

Local Hotels: There are several hotels within a 5–10 minute drive of the venue, including options to suit a range of budgets. If you're travelling to Sheffield for your course, we're happy to recommend nearby accommodation. Here are a couple of the closest options:
