How You're Taught
Online
You'll access the learning materials through our online learning portal, where you'll watch video lectures, read support material, have a go at quizzes and complete written work. All this is in preparation for your practical assessment (micro-teach session). You'll be able to work through the course at your own pace with the support of a tutor as and when needed.
The Practical Assessment
Your practical assessment involves delivering a planned 15 minute micro-teach session. If you're already teaching or have access to learners, you can simply record your session and submit it for assessment. If you don't currently have access to learners, we'll arrange an opportunity for you to deliver your micro-teach to other learners on the course. This flexible approach means everyone can successfully complete the practical assessment.
Assessment
Assessment includes:
- Knowledge questions
- Planning and delivering a 15-minute micro-teach session
- Evaluation of your teaching session
There are no formal written exams.
Progression
After completing this qualification, you can continue your professional development by progressing to:
- Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
- Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
Many learners also use this qualification to begin delivering accredited qualifications, workplace training and professional development courses.
Entry Requirement
To enrol, learners should hold:
- Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (or an equivalent qualification).
