Course Summary

Throughout the course you'll develop advanced clinical assessment and treatment skills, enabling you to safely manage a wide range of soft tissue dysfunctions.

You'll learn how to assess posture, movement and soft tissue dysfunction, plan and deliver safe, effective treatment programmes, apply advanced sports massage techniques to address muscular pain and dysfunction, advise clients on post-treatment care and injury prevention and work confidently within your professional scope of practice.

Don't have Level 3 Sports Massage Therapy or equivalent to complete this course? Complete both your Level 3 and Level 4 Sports Massage Therapy qualifications in one combined course and benefit from a reduced package price.

Gaining a certificate in sports massage therapy means you can treat your current clients, and build your own practice.

How You're Taught

You'll learn through 8 days of in-person training. The face-to-face sessions combine classroom-based learning with hands-on practical training. Under the guidance of experienced tutors, you'll refine your assessment and treatment techniques while working with fellow learners in a supportive professional environment. Practical sessions form a key part of the course, so you'll both provide and receive sports massage treatments throughout the programme.

  • Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Delivery: Face-to-face
  • Course Options: Weekend and selected evening dates available.

Please note that our evening courses are delivered over 12 weeks on one evening per week, starting at 6pm and finishing at 9pm each day.

Assessment

Assessment is completed throughout the course with no final written exam.

You'll complete:

Modules

Throughout the course, you'll study the following key modules:

  • Anatomy and Aetiology of Soft Tissue Dysfunction – Develop an in-depth understanding of the causes, signs and symptoms of common soft tissue dysfunctions and how they affect movement and performance.
  • Clinical Assessment Methods and Strategic Treatment Planning – Learn how to carry out thorough client assessments, identify dysfunction and create safe, effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • The Use of Non-Electrical Therapeutic Modalities – Master advanced sports massage techniques and manual therapies to help relieve pain, improve function and support recovery from soft tissue dysfunction.
  • Providing Post-Treatment Care – Understand how to support clients beyond the treatment room with appropriate aftercare advice, rehabilitation strategies and injury prevention techniques to promote long-term recovery.
