What Happens on a Pilates Instructor Course? Day-to-Day Structure
Booking a course without knowing what to expect can feel like a leap of faith. Here's a clear picture of what the Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates actually involves, day to day.
The overall structure
The course is delivered in-person over 8 full days, typically starting at 10.30am on Saturdays or 9am on Sundays and finishing at 5pm each day. Days combine theory-based learning with practical teaching practice.
Before you even start
You're given access to an online learning platform ahead of Day 1, including a video exercise library and anatomy and physiology resources, so you can arrive with a head start rather than starting completely cold.
What the practical elements involve
You'll practise delivering sessions to your fellow learners and receive direct, in-the-room feedback from your tutor; the fastest way to build genuine teaching confidence. As part of assessment, you'll also work with an individual client of your choice, completing a client profile, postural assessment, delivering sessions, and gathering feedback.
How you're assessed
-
A range of assessments integrated throughout the course
-
Practical delivery of sessions to real and peer clients
-
Session planning tailored to an individual client's needs
-
Anatomy and physiology exam, building on your pre-course study
Why in-person delivery matters here
Teaching Pilates well depends on subtle cues, posture, breathing, pacing and verbal instruction. These are genuinely difficult to develop without a tutor in the room correcting your technique in real time.
